Amazon iPad 2
Amazon Ipad 2 Review
Thorough Review of iPad 2
When I decided to buy iPad 2 more than two years ago, the first thing I did is check Amazon iPad 2 offers, as I had already gotten used to buying all the gadgets I needed on this website. I find it very helpful that you can find a lot of iPad reviews here, and all of these reviews are from people who have actually used the device, and they are also very helpful when you do not know enough information regarding iPad 2. On the other hand, I own the first-generation iPad, and I had used a friend’s iPad 2 before deciding to actually buy iPad 2, so I had been very knowledgeable about this device before I bought it on Amazon, and the reviews found there only helped reassure me that I was making the right decision.
Upgrading from iPad 1 to iPad 2 – My Experience
As I mentioned above, I’d had the first-generation iPad before I purchased an iPad 2, and still own my first iPad – probably because I’m sentimental like that. However, it is important to note that iPad 2 really was a surprise for me, as I didn’t expect too many improvements to happen on the new model of my beloved iPad. The touchscreen remained the same and had the same resolution, but this was probably expected, as the display on the original iPad was indeed phenomenal. The second-generation iPad is lighter and thinner, which are welcomed improvements as far as I am concerned. The iPad 2 is also faster than the original iPad, as it has a dual-core 1MHz Apple A5 processor, and 512 MB of RAM, as opposed to 256 MB of RAM found in iPad 1. Note: There are more than 1,500 iPad 2 reviews on Amazon, and the average customer review is almost 4.5 stars.
Amazon iPad 2 Reviews Show that the Cameras Are a Great Innovation
The first-generation iPad didn’t have a camera, and this was one of the biggest drawbacks of this great device. However, Apple introduced both a front-facing and a rear-facing camera in the iPad 2, and I simply love this new feature. The front facing camera is a 0.3 MP camera that shoots videos and stills in VGA quality, and is good enough for FaceTime. The rear-facing camera is a 0.7 MP camera that shoots videos at 30 fps and makes 720p HD videos. This camera also has a 5 times digital zoom. Generally speaking, I find the cameras a much more important improvement than the processor and RAM improvements, as well as the improvement in terms of thickness and weight of the device – but let’s face it, they are all very important improvements for people upgrading from iPad 1.
What Can Be Said about the Design of iPad 2?
At first glance, the only thing that separates iPad 1 and iPad 2 are the two cameras that are clearly visible on the newer model. However, iPad 2 also comes in two color options, namely black and white, while the original iPad came only in black. What’s more, the thickness of the tablet went from 13.4 mm to 8.8 mm, which is a lot. Aside from this, while iPad 1 weighed either 680 g or 730 g, depending on whether you choose the Wi-Fi only model or the Wi-Fi + 3G model, iPad 2 weighs from 601 g to 613 g, depending on the model. iPad 2 also features a 3-axis gyroscope, which is not present in iPad 1. Much like iPad 1, iPad 2 can be bought with 16, 32, and 64 GB of internal memory.
Owing to the fact that I had gotten used to my first-generation iPad, when I first started using my newly bought iPad2 I was pleasantly surprised. Namely, even though I had found my iPad 1 fast enough for most of the things I was doing with it, the second-generation iPad’s performance was greatly boosted by the increase in RAM and the introduction of the dual-core processor. It felt like the tablet was faster than my fingers or my thoughts before I got used to the new-found speed and fluency in performance. Multitasking became a walk in the park for the new iPad, and I enjoyed every minute I spent with the iPad 2 in my hands. I do a lot of reading, and using my iPad as an eBook reader was easy enough even with my first-generation iPad, but iPad 2 was even better at this.
Is There Room for Improvement in iPad 2?
Naturally, no tablet can be perfect, and iPad 2 is not an exception to this rule. The lack of an SD memory card slot is a minus for some people, but buying the 64 GB version will ensure you hardly ever run out of storage space. Also, no Flash support might be an issue, but fewer and fewer websites actually use Flash these days.
